COVID-19 and staying safe

The safety of our patients and staff has always been, and continues to be an important priority at Undercliffe Surgery.

Whilst the requirement to wear face coverings when in the surgery is now a personal choice, we do ask everyone to be mindful that COVID-19 can still be passed on and if you have symptoms please do not attend the surgery. We still have hand sanitizer available on entry and exit to the surgery and our staff will continue to wear PPE where appropriate. Local infection rates fluctuate and we feel these small measures will protect our patients, who are sick and may be vulnerable to infection, and our staff who want to continue to provide health care and support for all. We also continue to offer a telephone consultation in the first instance and then book a face to face appointment if needed.

This request is supported by our colleagues at Kirklees ICB and NHS England. We know our patients will want to contribute to our efforts to keep the infection at bay and our surgery open for everyone.

We will carry on as we have been doing throughout the pandemic – our clinicians consulting with patients in all the usual ways (via telephone, in person, by e-consult or video and messages via SystmOnline), our nurses and healthcare assistants carrying out blood and other diagnostic tests and providing information and support to enable patients to look after their health, and our reception and admin team answering queries, processing prescription requests and ensuring referrals and letters are dealt with.

We thank you all for your support and hope you and yours stay safe.
